I recently came across this interesting hybrid. It is a Segway designed by Ferrari. OR maybe because it is Halloween, a Segway decided to dress up like a Italian Sports car?

This Ferrari edition Segway is designed with all the nice bells and whistles that a Ferrari would have except… the horse power! Yup, you heard me right, it goes the same speed as your standard Segway. Geeks around the world rejoice knowing their pocket protectors will stay securely in their pockets.

As I am sure a lot of you have known, it was recently discovered that people were getting banned when using Widget Bucks Advertising modules. As it turned out, in the JavaScript they hid a link back to Widget Bucks underneath the flash module. Sneaky buggers eh. Well, it gets even better! I just received this letter claiming that I need to go and get new code that will speed up the widgets. Looking at the code, sure enough the link is now missing from the code.

Here is the letter:

Dear WidgetBucks Publisher,

One of the concerns we’ve heard from many of you has been the slow loading times of our widgets. We really appreciate your feedback and comments in helping us improve in this area. So, today we addressed this issue by rolling out new code that ultimately delivers faster loading widgets.

It is very important to note that this update will require action on your part. You will need to update code of your existing widgets for the speedier load times to take affect on your site, blog or network. Know that changing the code will not impact earnings for any of your widgets.

Here are the two steps you’ll need to follow:

1. Sign-in to http://widgetbucks.com and go to My Widgets
2. For each active widget, simply edit and re-copy the code block into your site or blog (the same steps you went through when you created the widgets originally)

Another option for updating code is to utilize the new categories and ad sizes we’ve incorporated over the last few weeks. Modifying a widget’s size or category — or creating an entirely new widget for that matter — will generate the new code that can then be re-copied to your site or blog.

I guess this goes to show that you need to be wary of all the code you are using on your site. Besides, the widgets hasn’t earned me anything yet and at that rate I believe Google AdSense will still be a more effective money maker for me until I get my traffic volumes up.

Today, I stumbled across Widget Bucks dot com. This is another advertising tool that connects users to product savings on a wide variety of products through a website called Mpire.
